Help a Friend with a Broken Heart
Fundraiser for Russ Beck
Sunday October 24, 2004
1PM- 7PM
Editor’s note: This letter
was received from Russ Beck’s mother. You may recall that
Russ hosted the DTSC Spring Tech Session at his shop in Dryden,
Michigan.
PLEASE!
I need your help to do a fund-raiser on October 24, 2004 at the
Dryden Wesleyan Church in Dryden, Michigan. Any donations of food,
money, or items for a Silent Auction will be appreciated. Russ Beck
II had open heart surgery on July 27, 2004 at the University of
Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. He had a heart valve inserted and
six days later a pace maker (all on the right side of his chest)
because in about six to eight weeks, another open heart operation
will be performed on the left side to replace a Dacron patch that
was inserted when he was about 10 years old. Russ is 33 years old
now and has a wonderful wife and three small beautiful children
ages 1, 3 and 9.
The doctor told Russ he will not
be able to return to work for at least a year. He is a Master Mechanic.
Because of the way the economy is, small businesses in small towns
have a very difficult time. That is why he has no health insurance.
