The Real Battle of the Brits                                                                       At 12:01 September 2nd 2007 the MG Owners took the Early Registration Battle Flag by having 85 registered LBC's versus 82 for Triumph Owners. Here is why and why we are rekindling the Battle for our 25th Aniversary. This page will keep a running Total of Entered Cars.  The Marque with the lead at the end of Early Registration Sept. 1st will recieve a special prize. Keep checking back on the race. We had 380 cars registered last year and there were more MG's registered than Triumphs. Here are the details for the full prize.   DTSC vs. WDMGC Competitions MG Owners Win Victor's Battle Best 3 0f 5 cars   In honor of the 25th anniversary of the show, several original DTSC vs. WDMGC Competitions and trophies have been resurrected and will again be up-for-grabs, the Battle of the Brits Participation Award, and the Battle of the Brits Victor trophy.   The Participation Award was presented from 1982 until 1987 to the club with the largest attendance, with DTSC winning 5 of the 6 years.  The trophy this year will be awarded to the club with the highest number of cars registered in it’s respective marque, regardless of any club affiliation.  Last year there were 110 MG’s and 107 Triumphs so get those Triumphs shined-up and registered!!   The Victor trophy also was awarded from 1982 to 1987 and was based on a number of cars selected to represent each club competing head-to-head.  The club winning the most categories was the Victor and allowed to keep the trophy for the subsequent year.  Here, DTSC won only 4 of the 6 competitions.  This year we will have 5 pairs of MG’s & Triumphs  that will compete.  A ballot indicating the 5 classes and to tally the votes will included in the Voting Ballot pack in each entrants’ Goody Bag.  Make sure you vote early and often for your favorite Triumph in each category!   Note: Please see the 2004 Battle of the Brits Triumph Review Special Edition for more interesting history on the original 1982 show as well as these and other competitions.     Participation Award Victor's Throphy
